Troubleshoot: Bot Messages in Wrong Teams Chat
If users in Microsoft Teams are seeing Revenue.io Bot messages and meeting reminders in a group chat, It’s possible someone in the group may have accidentally added the bot to the group.
How to Fix the Issue
The solution involves two main steps:
- Removing the Revenue.io Bot from the group chat (done once)
- Each user individually reconnecting with the bot
Step 1: Remove the Revenue.io Bot from Group Chat
Note: This step needs to be performed by either the group chat creator or a user with MS Teams admin privileges.
- Open the MS Teams group chat where the issue is occurring
- Click on the “View and add participants” option near the top right of the screen
- Look for “Revenue.io Bot” under the “Agents and bots” section
- Click the X icon to the right of “Revenue.io Bot” to remove it from the chat
- You should see a confirmation message in the group chat confirming the removal

Step 2: Reactivate Bot in the App Chat
Important: After the bot is removed from the group chat, the user that originally invited the bot must complete the following steps for the bot to post in the app Chat:
- Find or open your personal Revenue.io Bot chat in MS Teams
- Type “settings” in the chat with the bot
- This will reconnect the bot to your individual user profile
- Your meeting recording prompts will now only appear in your personal chat with the bot
