Insert a Snippet

You can insert snippets into emails when creating email actions or composing emails. This allows you to quickly add pre-written content blocks to your emails.

Inserting a Snippet

While Composing an Email

  1. While composing an email (in a sequence action, manual email, or one-off email), position your cursor where you want to insert the snippet
  2. Click the Snippets button in the Rich Text Editor toolbar
  3. A modal will open showing all available snippets
  4. Browse or search for the snippet you want to use
  5. Click on the snippet to insert it into your email

After Insertion

  1. The snippet content will be inserted at your cursor position
  2. If the snippet contains merge fields, they will be displayed and will be populated when the email is sent
  3. You can edit the inserted content if needed
  4. You can insert multiple snippets into the same email

Snippet Features

When you insert a snippet:

  • Merge Fields: Any merge fields in the snippet will be preserved and populated when the email is sent
  • Nested Snippets: If a snippet contains other snippets, they will be expanded when inserted
  • Formatting: All formatting from the snippet will be preserved
  • Editable: You can edit the inserted snippet content if you need to customize it for a specific email

Best Practices

  • Use snippets for standard content that doesn’t need frequent customization
  • Combine multiple snippets to build complex email templates
  • Test snippets with merge fields to ensure they work correctly
  • Keep snippets updated to reflect current messaging and branding
