Sequence Re-Entry
Role:
Administrator
By default, participants cannot re-enter a sequence. However, if you want participants to be able to re-enter, simply enable the “Enable Repeatable Sequence” option when creating or editing the sequence.
How Sequence Re-Entry Works
When “Enable Repeatable Sequence” is enabled:
- Participants who have exited a sequence can re-enter if they meet the entrance criteria again
- Participants must not meet the exit criteria to re-enter
- Each re-entry creates a new Sequence Association record
- Previous sequence history is preserved in Participant Sequence History records
Use Cases
Sequence re-entry is useful for:
- Nurture sequences: Allowing leads to re-enter as they move through different stages
- Re-engagement campaigns: Re-engaging participants who may have exited but are now qualified again
- Cyclical processes: Supporting processes where participants may need to go through the same sequence multiple times
Configuration
To enable sequence re-entry:
Edit Sequence
- Navigate to the sequence you want to configure
- Click Edit to modify the sequence
Enable Repeatable Sequence
- Find the “Enable Repeatable Sequence” option in the sequence details
- Toggle the setting to ON
- Save the sequence
Sequence re-entry is only available for Automatic sequences. Manual sequences do not support re-entry.
Best Practices
- Only enable re-entry for sequences where it makes business sense
- Monitor re-entry rates to understand participant behavior
- Consider exit criteria carefully to prevent unwanted re-entries
- Use re-entry for nurture and re-engagement scenarios
