For manual email actions, you can customize the email content before sending it. This allows you to personalize emails for each participant while using the sequence template as a starting point.
Customizing Email Actions
Access Email Action
- Navigate to the Lead or Contact record
- Scroll to the Guided Selling component
- Find the email action you want to customize
- Click on the email action or the Edit button
Customize Email Content
- The email editor will open with the template content
- Edit the subject line if needed
- Modify the email body:
- Add personalization
- Update merge fields if needed
- Adjust formatting
- Add or remove content
- Review the email
- Click Send when ready
Email Customization Features
When customizing emails, you can:
- Edit subject: Modify the email subject line
- Edit body: Change the email content
- Use merge fields: Insert dynamic fields from the participant record
- Add snippets: Insert pre-written content blocks
- Format text: Use rich text formatting options
- Add required text: Mark text that must be updated (if configured in template)
Merge Fields
Merge fields allow you to insert dynamic content from the participant record:
- Participant fields: Fields from the Lead or Contact record
- Sender fields: Fields from your user profile
- Automatic population: Merge fields are populated automatically when the email is sent

Email Requirements
For email actions to be available:
- The Lead or Contact must have their email field populated
- The Lead/Contact’s “Email Opt Out” field (
HasOptedOutOfEmail) should be unchecked - The action must be a manual email action (automatic emails cannot be customized before sending)
Automatic email actions are sent immediately when due and cannot be customized. Only manual email actions can be edited before sending.
