From an Individual Record
Roles:
AgentAdministrator
You can add participants to sequences directly from individual Lead or Contact records. This is useful for manual sequences or when you want to add specific participants to automatic sequences.
Adding a Participant from a Record
Navigate to Lead or Contact Record
- Open the Lead or Contact record in Salesforce
- Scroll to the Guided Selling component (if visible on the page layout)
Add to Sequence
- Look for the “Add to Sequence” button or option
- Click to open the sequence selection dialog
- Select the sequence you want to add the participant to
- Confirm the addition
Requirements for Adding Participants
For a participant to be added to a sequence:
- The participant must meet the sequence entrance criteria
- The participant must not already be in another sequence
- The sequence must be active
- For manual sequences, the participant must meet entrance criteria (the system will validate this)
If a participant doesn’t meet the entrance criteria, you’ll see an error message indicating why they cannot be added to the sequence.
Removing a Participant from a Record
You can also remove participants from sequences directly from the record:
Access Participant Actions
- Navigate to the Lead or Contact record
- Scroll to the Guided Selling component
- View the list of actions for the participant
Remove from Sequence
- Click the menu dropdown on a participant action or the sequence association
- Select Remove from Sequence or Exit Sequence
- Confirm the removal
Removing a participant from a sequence will cancel all uncompleted actions. Completed actions and sequence history will be preserved.
Viewing Sequence Information
On the Lead or Contact record, the Guided Selling component shows:
- Current sequence association
- All actions (past, present, and future)
- Action status and progress
- Options to complete, skip, or reschedule actions
Best Practices
- Verify participants meet entrance criteria before adding
- Review sequence details before adding participants
- Use manual addition for testing and specific use cases
- Monitor participants added manually to ensure they’re appropriate
- Remove participants promptly when they no longer qualify
