Enable Inactive Processing
Role:
Salesforce Administrator
The Participant Enable inactive processing setting controls whether targets whose user owners are deactivated can be participants of a sequence.
How Inactive Processing works
Guided Selling allows participants whose user owners are deactivated to be part of a sequence and have actions executed and completed. This is possible if the option Participant Enable inactive processing is enabled in Custom Settings, and Enabled Delegation Association is also enabled. The delegated owner, the user designated in the sequence configuration, will be able to own and perform actions.
Configuration
- Navigate to
Guided Selling Settings - Go to
Custom Settings - Find
Participant Enable inactive processing - Toggle the setting to
ON - Save the configuration
Behavior when enabled
When Participant Enable inactive processing is enabled:
- Leads and Contacts can still be eligible as a sequence participant if their record owner is inactive, given a delegation owner is configured in the sequence and a user is populated in that specified field
Behavior when disabled
When Participant Enable inactive processing is disabled:
- Participants will not be eligible to enter the sequence if their owner is deactivated, regardless of the status of a delegated owner
- Existing participants may be affected if their owner is deactivated
Best practices
- Monitor participants with deactivated owners
- Reassign participants when owners, or delegated owners, are deactivated
- Document your inactive processing policy
