Create Your First Sequence

Creating your first sequence is a key step in getting started with Guided Selling. This guide walks you through the basics of sequence creation.

Sequence Creation Overview

A sequence consists of:

  1. Sequence Details: Name, record type, activation type, delegation
  2. Entrance Criteria: Conditions participants must meet to enter
  3. Exit Criteria: Conditions that cause participants to exit
  4. Actions: The steps participants will go through
  5. Activation: Making the sequence active

Creating a Sequence

Start Sequence Creation

  1. Navigate to the Sequence tab in Guided Selling
  2. Click New Sequence at the top right
  3. Enter a name for your sequence

Configure Sequence Details

  1. Select the Record Type (Lead, Contact, Opportunity, or Campaign)
  2. Choose Activation Type (Manual or Automatic)
  3. Set Priority if it’s an automatic sequence
  4. Configure Sequence Delegation if needed
  5. Set other sequence options (Slow Drip, Repeatable Sequence)

Define Criteria

  1. Add Entrance Criteria to determine who can enter
  2. Add Exit Criteria to determine when participants leave
  3. Test criteria using reports if possible

Add Actions

  1. Add at least one action to the sequence
  2. Configure action details (type, timing, content)
  3. Add additional actions as needed
  4. Order actions appropriately

Save and Activate

  1. Save the sequence
  2. Review the sequence configuration
  3. Activate when ready
  4. Monitor participant addition

Best Practices for Your First Sequence

  • Start simple: Begin with a basic sequence with a few actions
  • Test thoroughly: Test in sandbox or with a small group first
  • Use clear naming: Name your sequence descriptively
  • Document purpose: Note what the sequence is designed to achieve
  • Monitor closely: Watch the first participants closely
